We the Living, Ayn Rand's first book, and Anthem, her second, were both released in 1936. With the 1943 release of The Fountainhead, she found incredible and sustained success. Objectivism, Ayn Rand's original ideology, has attracted a large following and continues to shape modern thought. Her works Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology, The Virtue of Selfishness, Capitalism: the Unknown Ideal, and The Romantic Manifesto all lay forth the foundations of her philosophy. Rand passed away in 1982.
