This book's second edition was written with students who are particularly interested in using statistical techniques to solve issues in psychology and education in mind. A new chapter has been introduced with proofs for various important formulas that are shown throughout the text along with several methodologies. The book is divided into three sections. Part I is devoted to descriptive statistics and includes topics such as frequency distribution, measures of central tendency, measures of variability, cumulative distributions, visual methods and percentiles, normal distribution, and linear correlation. Inference and prediction are thoroughly covered in Part II. A few further strategies are covered in Part III's explanation of the particular themes of correlation and test construction, which deal with mental tests and other psychological data, the validity and reliability of test results, multiple correlation in test selection, and the derivation of important formulas.
